'Ghostbusters 3' to avoid 'Indy' problems
Harold Ramis has said that he is hoping the new Ghostbusters movie will avoid the problems of last summer's Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
Ramis, who starred as Egon Spengler and co-wrote the first two movies with Dan Aykroyd, told Movieline that he does not want to disappoint fans of the popular franchise.
"The Star Trek reinvention worked great because they were able to project back in time," Ramis said. "We're not going to tell an origin story of who the Ghostbusters were before you met them in the first movie.
"But I would hate to do Indiana Jones And The Crystal Skull. It didn't seem like there was a lot new going on there - just more of the same and not as interesting."
The 64-year-old refused to comment on speculation about new cast members, but said that Michael Cera and Seth Rogen "would be great" as younger spook hunters.
Ramis's Year One, penned by Ghostbusters 3 writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, opens in US cinemas this Friday and on June 26 in the UK.
